May full Moon is universally celebrated by Buddhists in remembrance of Buddha’s enlightenment. This holy night invites us to widen into those openings that bring us a greater sense of expansion and peace.
Celebrating Vesak also means making special efforts to bring happiness to the unfortunate and also a time for great joy.
Buddha advised everyone not to cry over the disintegration of the physical body but to regard his teachings (The Dharma / Universe) as their teacher from then on. Only the truth of the Dharma is eternal, and not subject to the law of change.
Tonight (May 26th, 2021) the Sun, Earth, and Moon align creating a total lunar eclipse and the Moon reaches the closest point to Earth on its elliptical orbit, the perigee (that's why it's called a supermoon). It will rise vibrant blood red in the sky this evening and in certain parts of the world will be able to get a glimpse of the most supermoon in years: The Super Flower Blood Moon.
Astrologers believe it to be the most auspicious time to turn intentions into actions. To forgive, review values, plans and focus on a path of love. Why not? How about taking this moment to put on paper everything you want to improve in your life? Writing is one of the best ways to bring awareness and even an impetus for possible changes.
Review your visions, the beliefs you feed, the channels you place your energy into, day after day through your thoughts, words and actions. You are your own author.
You can also do this reflection by lighting a Myrrh incense blend, which facilitates the self-connection.
