A dark reddish-brown sap from a tree that belong to the Styrax family native to Sumatra, Thailand, Indonesia and adjacent islands. Best known as ‘Friar’s Balsam’. Benzoin has been used for thousands of years as an incense in rituals and ceremonies to drive out evil spirits and negative vibrations.
